Recent leaver, Sophie Bolton, who was in the Class of 2013, has been awarded the Lloyd’s Register Foundation Arkwright Undergraduate Scholarship.
The Arkwright Trust is a charitable organisation that inspires future leaders in Engineering and related areas of design by increasing the number of high-calibre young people who pursue higher education and careers in the sector. Scholarships are awarded with the support of The Lloyd’s Register Educational Trust and The Reece Foundation.
Headmistress of the Girls’ Division, Sue Hincks, said:”Whilst in the Sixth Form, Sophie had already secured an Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, which put her in the top echelon of the UK’s most able future leaders in engineering. She has now won one of just seven Arkwright Undergraduate Scholarships being awarded nationally in 2013. This is a very significant accolade, both for Sophie and for Bolton School Girls’ Division.”
The Scholarship is valued at £10,000 over the duration of Sophie’s undergraduate course (MEng Mechanical Engineering, at Imperial College, London).
