Typically, Advanced Level students begin a programme which
includes four of the subjects listed below. Once students have
indicated their preferences for AS courses, we draw up option pools
which allow for as many different combinations as possible. The
enormous flexibility of this arrangement is illustrated by the fact
that there are more than 100 different weekly timetables in
operation. Below you can download a brochure which gives full
course details.
All A Level courses follow a two-stage pattern.
First year, Year 12 AS
Two units to be examined at a standard intermediate between GCSE
and A Level.
Second year, Year 13 A2
Two units to be examined at full A Level standard to include
some "synoptic" assessment, ie assessment of content from all four
units.
