However, Bolton School Sixth Forms offer much more than academic success – there is enrichment through unique leadership opportunities, study visits, travel, exposure to eminent guest speakers, competitions and thriving extra-curricular clubs and societies. Students also play an active role in the local community as they are encouraged to further build their CVs through volunteering and Duke of Edinburgh activities. The School was recently awarded the TES Independent School of the Year Award, The Independent School Parent magazine School of the Year Award and the Queen’s Award for Volunteering, the MBE for volunteer groups. Throughout the two years, expert guidance and assistance is on hand through a career advisory programme and with applying to Higher Education. The School has an outstanding record in securing places for students in the top universities.

Girls and boys enjoy the best of both worlds – single-sex teaching whilst undertaking some co-educational activities such as drama and music and in having access to the shared, stunning recreational and study facilities in the newly built Riley Sixth Form Centre.

Most Y11 pupils at Bolton School progress to the Sixth Forms but every year up to 30 new students are welcomed to each cohort with some bursaries being available to those in financial need.
