Kathleen wrote to us in October 2013, having attended the May Serenade in the Girls' Division earlier that year, with her memories of 'saving the plates'.
"My memories go back to the Summer Term of 1960, and my turn to serve visitors to the School at Top Table.
"As I approached Miss Higginson's side with the plates, the unthinkable happened; I slipped, almost disappearing under the table - fortunately not quite. I landed on the floor with the plates (on which I was totally docused) intact, held aloft in my right hand - a miracle!
"Showing no impatience, for which I was forever grateful, Miss Higginson simply asked if I was 'alright'.
"I remember still the amused faces of Miss Falla, and my friends, at the miraculous 'saving of the plates'!".
