Year 5 girls and boys from local schools joined pupils from Bolton School Junior Girls’ and Junior Boys’ Schools for a challenging afternoon of Mathematics problems. Organiser, Dr Fraser Mullins, said: “This was a fun but challenging afternoon where pupils worked collaboratively to answer a variety of questions, to crack puzzles and to complete a number of activities.”

The event took place in the Leverhulme Suite at Bolton School and was compered by Boys’ Division Mathematics Teacher Mrs Roadnight.

A team from Clarendon Cottage Preparatory School, Salford won the coveted trophy, pipping Bolton School’s Junior Boys by half a point; in third place was a team from Bolton School’s Junior Girls’ School.
