Young athlete Harriet Dickens is one of 15 water polo players selected to represent Great Britain at the LEN Women’s European Junior Water Polo Championships in Croatia. She joins the Under 17s squad who will travel to Šibenik in August to compete against the best teams in Europe.

The GB team has been drawn into Group A of the competition and will play against Spain, Serbia, Israel and the Czech Republic, with matches taking place from 21 to 29 August.

Harriet, who will be in Year 11 when school resumes in September, also plays for the City of Manchester squad. Earlier this summer, she helped the City of Manchester senior women’s team become Champions at the inaugural British Water Polo Festival. She was awarded the Bolton School Girls’ Division Wallwork Trophy at the end of Year 10 for her outstanding commitment to a broad range of sports throughout KS3.
