Lizzie Selected for Regional Development Programme

Congratulations to Year 9 pupil Lizzie Harkness, who has been selected by the Football Association to attend their Under 14s Regional Development Programme.

This residential weekend is held in October. Girls from across the North West region have been invited. Some girls attending this regional excellence camp will also be selected for the FA’s National Performance Centre.

Lizzie’s father Duncan Harkness said, “It's a huge achievement for her to be invited, especially given she has only been with Everton for six months, and she's justifiably delighted to have been selected.”

Last year, Lizzie signed up with Everton, which is one of the North West’s Premier League football team Tier 1 Regional Talent Centres (RTCs). She also plays for the Greater Manchester Schools’ U14s team.

Girls’ Division Head of PE Mrs Heatherington said, “Lizzie is just going from strength to strength with her football which is definitely something to celebrate.”
