Outstanding Biathlon Performances

  • AJIS Biathlon gold

Y5 and Y6 girls at Bolton School performed outstandingly at the Association of Junior Independent Schools (AJIS) Biathlon competition held at Rossall School on Monday 23 April.

There were excellent performances throughout the team, in particular from Year 6. Pip Nuttall and Charlotte Harris recorded the incredible feat of both coming in the top three, Pip coming first and Charlotte third.. The Biathlon involved the girls swimming 2 lengths (50m) and running 2 laps of the track (800m). A special mention to Pip who recorded some impressive times: 36.29 secs (swim) and 3.06 mins (run).

In the overall team competition, it was the top 3 scores that counted. Bolton came first overall with the top scores from Pip, Charlotte and Molly Grimshaw. Headteacher Mrs Laverick said: “All the girls were brilliant – despite the windy conditions - and we had some excellent performances from all competitors.”
