Pupils and parents at Park Road, the Junior Boys’ School of Bolton School, enjoyed a gripping display of floor routines in their morning assembly as 11 competitors from Years 5 and 6 competed in the gymnastics final. The boys had won through a group of 109 pupils from across both age groups in the school and performed some very impressive routines. 

Headteacher Mrs Faulkner said: “Each boy has done incredibly well to make it to the final 11 and they have performed outstandingly this morning.” 

Rory Hodgson of Y6 placed third with 25 points, Y5 pupil Zaid Ahmed took second with 27 points and with 31 points out of a possible 35, the joint winners were Y5 boy Henry Hughes and Harry Butler from Y6.
