Exploring the Dark
Wednesday, 02 December 2015
Children at Beech House have been exploring various different aspects of ‘the dark’ in School.
Year 1 pupils asked the question, “Why isn’t everyone afraid of the dark?” As part of the work on this topic, the class enjoyed a wonderful afternoon painting their own versions of Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’ with some fantastic results.
Meanwhile, one of the reception classes enjoyed exploring their ‘dark den’. This led to a ‘Space and Aliens’ topic, in which the children designed and named their own aliens. Partially inspired by the book Aliens Love Underpants! by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort, they also designed underpants for their individual creations.
