Fun at the Ugly Bug Ball!

Friday, 18 May 2012

Beech House's Ugly Bug Ball saw the Reception class dress up as bugs and insects to celebrate the work they have been doing around exploring living things.

Some colourful costumes were on display at the ball where the children ate, danced and played games dressed as ladybirds, bumblebees, caterpillars and spiders.

Ever since Easter they have been focussing on Springtime as they develop they develop their Knowledge and Understanding of the World. Children went on a mini-best hunt in the woodland area just outside their school and have looked in detail at spiders, worms and ladybirds. They have shown great interest in how caterpillars change into cocoons and eagerly await their development into butterflies. Children have enjoyed reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar story and have re-enacted large parts of the tale.
