The Year 2 children went on an outdoor adventure at the Anderton Centre. There were three different activities to try out and the good weather made the day an even better experience.
Canoeing on the reservoir in groups was an exciting challenge. The children enjoyed putting on all of the kit and then taking the canoes out onto open water, where they tried out paddling. Once they reached the opposite side of the reservoir they were able to explore the castle!
The bushcraft session saw everyone gathering wood and kindling to build a fire before learning how to make a spark, and also finding out how to create a shelter. It was fun to toast marshmallows and make popcorn on the campfire.
Having a go at archery allowed the Year 2s to test their skills and try to improve over the course of the session. By the end of their turn at the range, the groups were more confident and had fun trying their best and this difficult activity.
The Year 2 pupils listened attentively to all of the instructors at the Anderton Centre and had a wonderful time.
