Two hundred Bolton School Infants did themselves proud this year as they donned a wide range of costumes to celebrate World Book Day. They came as characters from a wide range of literature – everything from Dennis the Menace, Harry Potter, The BFG, Fantastic Mr Fox, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Peter Pan, Where’s Wally, Mary Poppins, 101 Dalmations, Horrid Henry and Mr Strong to Cleopatra and much, much more!
Beech House teaching staff were not to be outdone and led by example: Mrs Stevens came as Goldilocks, Mrs Proctor was Mummy Bear, Mrs Mees was one of the 3 Pigs, Mrs Hardy was The Big Bad Wolf, Mrs Brookes came as Grandma (from Little Red Riding Hood), Miss Haughton was Little Red Riding Hood, Mrs Aldred was Alice, Miss Whittle was White Rabbit, Miss Dooley and Mrs Marshall were Lost and Found, Mrs Gliddon was a pirate, Mrs Ferguson and Mrs Holland were Katie Morag and her Grandma, Mrs Clarke was Princess Fiona from Shrek and Headteacher Mrs Taylor was the Witch from Room on the Broom.
Having admired each others’ costumes in assembly, the children then enjoyed a day of literature-inspired activities.
