"The best thing I can say of the school was that it worked. It embedded in me habits of reading and thinking as well as an enduring curiosity about just about everything."

10-Year-Old Toby Wins U18s Junior Golf Competition

Tuesday, 18 October 2016

Toby Yates in Year 6 has once again won a golf competition for Under 18s despite being just ten years old!

He competed in the final summer junior golf competition at Bolton Golf Club, where he won the J. Maxwell Trophy with an impressive 44 points. This is one of the oldest junior competitions at the club and attracts a high turnout of competitors.

This makes for a strong end to the season for Toby, who has also taken podium positions against much older players in the recent Judge Kershaw Junior Knockout Competition, the Under 14 Lancashire Junior Championships and the Old Links Bolton Junior Open.

His family is delighted with his golfing achievements in 2016.
