Bolton School Junior Boys

Boys are AJIS Quiz Champions

Bolton School Boys' Division Junior School has won the annual AJIS Quiz Tournament.

All AJIS schools in the North-West were invited to take part and there were 10 rounds, all with varying amounts of points to be won. At half time the Bolton School team were in 5th place but the last four rounds gave the opportunity to win more points and with encouragement from the captain and determination from the team, the Park Road boys were able to claw back the points little by little, almost winning every round, until at the finish they drew level to lead with Cheadle Hulme.

This meant that there was a tie-break question. All very nerve-wracking for the team, parents and teacher! James Larkin saved the day by leaping out of his seat knowing instantly the capital of Ethiopia. The opponents were very gracious in defeat admitting that they had not known the answer to the tie-break.

The team was made up of Year 6 pupils Robert Heather (Captain), James Larkin, Edward Bailey, Elliot Mathieson and Peter Johnson.
