Chess Boys Will Represent Manchester

Five pupils from Bolton School Junior Boys’ School will represent Manchester at the national English Primary Schools' Chess Association (EPSCA) final in Warwickshire in April. 

The Year 4 boys were chosen after their winning performances at the regional final held at Hulme Court School, Oldham on Saturday 10 March. Ilyas Khunda, Matthew Pearson, Suleiman Nisar, Hugo Hayton-Weed and Siddansh Kumar, who won all his games in the U9s’ section, were presented with certificates to mark their achievement.

Julian Clissold, Chairman of the English Chess Federation, said: “The boys have maintained a long tradition of Bolton School children who have represented Manchester and ensured a strong presence in national tournaments.”
