"When I return to Bolton School to talk to pupils about entrepreneurship, my message is to 'go for it'. This is an attitude that I had instilled in me during my time at the school where my curiosity was fuelled and I became interested in ideas."

Excellent Football at Kids’ Cup Regional Final

Thursday, 12 March 2015

After their success in the Primary Schools Cup in November, the Junior Boys’ Football Team went on to represent Bolton Wanderers in the regional finals for the Football League Trust Kids’ Cup. The event was held at Bolton Wanderers’ Eddie Davies Academy and brought together twelve school teams, each representing their local football club.

The boys in all of the teams played some great football on the day, with even the group matches being very closely fought. The Bolton School boys found themselves closely matched in a number of games in the group stages which could have gone either way.

However, they did Bolton Wanderers proud and made it through to the quarter-final stage, where they faced the team representing Wigan Athletic. The match was once again very close and was eventually decided in the penalty shootout, which the Wigan team narrowly won.

The Junior Boys took fifth place in the regional tournament, which was a great achievement given the very high standard of play on the day. The Wigan Athletic team went on to take third place.

The final match of the day saw Derby County take on Blackburn Rovers. Both teams played very well, with Blackburn coming out on top with two goals to one when the final whistle blew.
