To celebrate Bolton School Foundation’s 100/500 anniversaries, the five School Parents’ Associations are hosting a Foundation Family Festival in the School grounds on Sunday 28 June, to which all current and past pupils, parents and friends of Bolton School are warmly invited.
The day, which starts at 12.00 noon, promises to be busy and fun-filled! There will also be much fundraising for national and local causes and for the School’s bursary fund. A food-can sculpture will be built, with full cans donated by families and guests prior to the event and on the day; at the end of the event the sculpture will be dismantled and all the food donated to local charity Urban Outreach. There will be Junior and Senior Bake-Offs with many of the cakes being donated to Bolton Hospice, a representative of which will be helping judge the competition. Local businesses will also be selling their wares on the day – everything from jewellery to wine to handbags!
Other activities on the day include abseiling, a rock concert, a birds of prey display, a food festival including a Pimms’ Tent and stalls selling Bolton School’s own honey and wine, Infant and Junior Schools’ fairs with bouncy castles and go-karts and numerous food stalls, including afternoon tea in the school’s Arts & Conference Centre.
