Fun Run Sponsorship for Boys’ Four Charities

The Junior Boys’ annual Fun Run at the end of the summer term saw pupils don a colourful array of costumes to raise £8,160. The money has now been split between four charities: Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support, Make A Wish UK and RSPCA. Each House donated £2,040 to the charity of their choice.

An assembly was arranged in order to make the donations and representatives from three of the charities attended to talk to pupils about the work they do and how the money raised will help. John Rullo discussed Macmillan Cancer Support, Toni Findley described the work done by Make A Wish UK and Mrs Faulkner spoke on behalf of Cancer Research UK, but boys were perhaps most excited to hear from Julie Ashcroft and special guest Mouse the rescue dog!

At the end of assembly, cheques were presented by the Charity Representatives from each House, each giving the cheque to his House’s chosen charity.
