The Bolton School Junior Boys' U11 A Chess team has been
named eighth overall in the country, after competing in the
EPSCA (English Primary Schools Chess Association) National Primary
Schools Chess Team Championship 2010.
The boys made it through to the final of the competition
following success in their semi final at Prestatyn and travelled
down to Bream Sands in Somerset in July to face the best in the
country in the national final. The boys played exceptionally well
through several gruelling rounds of chess to walk away in eighth
place. This is a fantastic achievement for the team - made up of
Luke Cavanaugh, Henry Webb, Tom Paterson and Ryan Thakrar who are
current Year 6 boys and Rohit Bagewadi and Henry Taylor who have
now moved up to Year 7.
