Forty cricketing enthusiasts aged 5-16 years from across the region took part in this year’s Andrew Flintoff Cricket Academy held at Bolton School. Children of all levels of ability enjoyed a fantastic opportunity to learn cricket the Andrew Flintoff way - "Freddie" has had real input into the week-long course, which was made up of lots of cricket, Freddie Challenges, swimming sessions and mini-tournaments, with a number of prizes and awards being given out.

On the final day of the 5-day programme which is run by Activate Sport, the participants were delighted to receive technique tips and advice from 28 year old Lancashire slow left arm spin bowler Simon Kerrigan. The Academy has made use of Bolton School’s indoor and outdoor cricket facilities every summer since 2009 and has included visits from Andrew Flintoff, Greg Chapple and Dominic Cork.
