Teachers of individual music lessons at the Junior Boys’ School held a demonstration to allow children in Year 2 and their parents to find out more about the wide range of instrumental teaching on offer at Bolton School. Mrs Ives welcomed everyone before handing over to the teachers.

Miss Moore talked about stringed instruments that pupils can learn and briefly demonstrated the violin before she gave a short performance on the Cello. Mr Dawkins spoke about woodwind instruments and played pieces on the clarinet and saxophone. Mr Walker discussed the range of percussion lessons available, including tuned percussion, and demonstrated the drum kit.

At the end of the demonstrations, visiting pupils had the opportunity to handle and even have a go at playing a variety of instruments while parents could talk to the teachers about the lessons available for Bolton School Junior Boys.
