A whole school Harvest Assembly at Park Road saw Urban Outreach's Dave Bagley offer an inspiring talk that illustrated how what we do in our everyday lives can change the stories of other people's lives - an astonishing power that we have!

The theme of the assembly, presided over by Head of School Mrs Faulkner, was thinking about others. Mrs Faulkner told how back in her days at school, Harvest had been about collecting baskets of fresh fruit but now it is much more about thinking of how we feed people long-term. Mr Bagley had already pointed out that last year Urban Outreach had provided 72,000 meals to people in Bolton and that over the summer months they had provided 52,000 meals to schoolchildren. He thanked the boys and their parents, who attended the assembly, for their contributions which, along with gifts from the Junior Girls' School, will help the people in need in the town. The morning closed with a rousing rendition of "We plough the fields, and scatter...."
