"When I return to Bolton School to talk to pupils about entrepreneurship, my message is to 'go for it'. This is an attitude that I had instilled in me during my time at the school where my curiosity was fuelled and I became interested in ideas."

U11s Reach National Football Semi-Final

Monday, 29 April 2013

Bolton School Junior Boys’ Division football team made it to the national semi final of the U11 ISFA seven a side tournament, putting them in the last four sides in the whole country.

The boys won their regional final 2-0 against Altrincham Prep to take them to the National Finals at the National Football Centre at St. George’s Park, representing the North West on an occasion that attracted a large crowd of spectators.

In the group stages the boys lost their first game, but were not to be defeated again, taking them to the quarter-final against Hall Grove School which they won with a single first half effort. In the semi final they faced RGS The Grange, who scored after 12 seconds but Bolton equalised 12 seconds from time taking the game to penalties! Unfortunately, after a close penalty shoot-out, RGS won through.

The boys finished in overall 4th - a superb result in a national competition.
