"The classic Bolton School combination is hard work, good friends, challenging and thought-provoking teaching, a healthy desire to puncture the self-important and the sense that you can work hard to achieve things in life. "

Girls Inspired by Young Shakespeare Company

Monday, 07 March 2011

The Junior Girls' School was delighted to welcome the Young Shakespeare Company into school.

Their adaptation of a Midsummer Night's Dream provided a a memorable experience and left the girls very excited about Shakespeare.  English Teacher Mrs Worsley said: "This was sensational acting and I am sure they have left a taste for future studies of Shakespeare for these upper Key Stage 2 year groups."

Year 6 pupil Ciara Mansfield said: "The Young Shakespeare Company's workshop of  the comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream was fascinating and extremely funny.  I love drama anyway but this took us to another level and made me want to aim even higher with my acting. I am thoroughly looking forward to performing scenes from this play in our own Drama Workshops later in the Summer term."
