"I remember my days at school vividly and with great affection. Bolton School has a great tradition in the liberal arts. I've always acted for the love of it and this first love was inspired at Hopefield, the school theatre."

Girls Progress to National Chess Final

Saturday, 04 June 2011

Congratulations go to Year 4 pupil, Sharon Daniel and Year 5 girls, Naadiya Mohammed and Zara Walsh who took part in the National Girls' Chess Championship qualifier in Leeds.

Against some strong opposition, Naadiya and Zara qualified for the under 10s' National Final; whilst Sharon qualified for the plate competition, narrowly missing out on a final place by only half a point.

The final will be held at the prestigious St Paul's School, Hammersmith in London on 2 July.  Well done so far and we wish the girls good luck in the final!
