Girls Progress to National Swim Finals after Everton Park Success

On a March Friday evening, five girls from Year 6 of Bolton School Junior Girls’ School competed at Everton Park in Liverpool in the qualifying round of the English Schools' Swimming Association (ESSA) Nationals. They took part in two relay events; medley and freestyle where the top three teams from each race would qualify through to the national finals on Saturday 21st June at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

In the freestyle race, Bolton was placed in the 4th heat. The first three heats were very quick, including a time of 1.06.92 from The Queen’s School. The girls swam a fantastic race coming 1st in their heat, with a time of 1.07.15. Overall, we achieved 2nd place for the freestyle relay and a ticket through to the nationals!
