Junior Girls Raise Over £1000 For Haiti
Wednesday, 03 March 2010
Bolton School Junior Girls have been busy raising over £1000 for the Haiti disaster fund, with a variety of fundraising events.
The girls held a breakfast bar, a cake sale, a Hair for Haiti day and a sponsored walk, over three separate fundraising days.
The Sponsored Walk was held at Rivington and Year 4 girls and their siblings took part. The weather could not have been any worse as it rained two days prior to the walk, and the girls also woke up to snow on the day, but they were undeterred and managed to raise around £600 from the walk, before being treated to lunch at Rivington barn by the mums afterwards!
The Junior Girls raised a further £550 over the course of two previous fundraising days where they held a breakfast bar, a cake sale and a Hair for Haiti day, where girls were allowed to wear their hair how they wanted - the more outlandish the better - making for a very colourful assembly!
The overall total raised by the girls from all the events is £1152.52.
