"The classic Bolton School combination is hard work, good friends, challenging and thought-provoking teaching, a healthy desire to puncture the self-important and the sense that you can work hard to achieve things in life. "

Junior Girls Shake Up Shakespeare

Thursday, 21 June 2012

Year 6 pupils from Hesketh House have been busy working on short interpretations of Shakespeare's tragedy, 'Romeo and Juliet', to showcase in front of their parents in an evening performance.

After studying and exploring the play, pupils challenged their own thinking and skills of interpretation to produce short devised pieces. The girls performed their devised scripts of, 'Shake Up Shakespeare with Romeo and Juliet' in the Girls' Division Theatre and the audience responded enthusiastically to the girls' performances. The work celebrated creative script writing, costume design, convincing drama and team work.
