Thursday, 06 September 2012
It's official, Junior Girls' pupil Mahima Raghavendra is Britain's finest U9 girls' chess player!
Mahima took part in the U9 section of the British Championships held at North Shields earlier in the summer. Over the course of two days she competed against girls and boys and scored 5/7, winning 4 matches, drawing 2 and losing just one, which was enough to mean that she won the best U9 girl trophy.
Mahima also took part in the UK Chess Challenge Northern Giga Final and came joint first scoring 5/6. The prize money was shared between the joint winners.
