Pupils from the Junior Girls’ School competed in several categories at the twenty-fifth Ramsbottom Music Festival, held on Friday 9 March and Saturday 10 March.

The String Quartet competed on the Saturday, coming first place in their category! As a result, they were invited to take part in a special Gala Concert at Greenmount Church, celebrating the winners of Ramsbottom Music Festival.

There were also several near-misses for other Junior Girls’ School entrants.

Members of the Hesketh House Choir and the Junior Girls’ String Orchestra performed very well in their sections during the Friday of the competition, both finishing in second place. There were also several individual entries from pupils on the Saturday: Imogen Ferrier came second in her cello category, Sofia Riaz came second in her piano category, and Paavana Sugumar came second in her voice category and third in her piano category.
