Year 6 pupil Ruby Spencer was recently selected to compete at the North-West Regional British Gymnastics Competition Level 6, representing the City of Preston Gymnastics Club. This was her first time completing at this standard.

Ruby’s mum Sonya Spencer called her selection ‘a fabulous honour’ and a credit to Ruby’s coaches and training, both during lockdowns and when they were able to return to the gymnastics training centre.

Ruby competed across all four apparatus pieces: floor, bars, beam and vault. She ranked 6th overall in Lancashire across the four pieces, but did particularly well in the Beam: won a Beam Bronze medal in the Lancashire classification and placed seventh in the whole of the North-West!
