"Pupils are encouraged to volunteer, to lead, to perform, to try new things, to move outside their comfort zone and they emerge as fine, rounded, honourable young adults equipped to thrive and succeed wherever life takes them."

Sally Selected for Royal Northern College of Music

Tuesday, 09 July 2013

Hesketh House Year 6 pupil Sally Cowling has been selected for the Junior Royal Northern College of Music.

Sally, who has been playing the oboe for two and a half years, had to pass an audition to be accepted into the RNCM.

The Junior RNCM provides expert tuition and specialist training for children and young people (aged 8-18) with exceptional musical ability. As students attend on Saturdays they receive highly specialised musical training without disturbing the balance of their weekday education, and enjoy making and performing music with others of similar talents and aspirations.

Sally said: โ€œAt the weekend I auditioned for the Royal Northern College of Music and I passed so now every Saturday I get to go and have lessons and play in orchestras!"
