"The classic Bolton School combination is hard work, good friends, challenging and thought-provoking teaching, a healthy desire to puncture the self-important and the sense that you can work hard to achieve things in life. "

School Wins Town High 5s Netball Tournament

Monday, 24 March 2014

This was the last netball fixture of the season and the last competitive fixture the Year 6 team would play at Hesketh House. After a positive performance at the AJIS Netball Tournament (placing third out of 16 teams) Bolton School believed they had a good chance of winning, with the only possible barrier being it was high-5 rather than 7 a-side!

Eleven schools took part in the town tournament held at St Joseph's School and the Hesketh House girls were placed in Group 2 against St John's (Won 3-1), Prestolee (Won 2-0), Clevelands (Won 3-2) and Pikes Lane (Won 5-0). As winners of Group 2, the School then had to face the runners up of Group 1 which was Claypool in the semi final. It just so happened that on the rotations Bolton ended up with its strongest shooting duo; Charlotte H & Jessica C. Hence, the final score ended 9-0 to Bolton.

The final itself was a very close game against Egerton but with determination and effort, Bolton School managed to win 4-0. Congratulations to all the girls.

As winners of the tournament, they are entitled to represent Bolton at the Greater Manchester Games in July along with the School's swim team which has also enjoyed recent local success.
