"The classic Bolton School combination is hard work, good friends, challenging and thought-provoking teaching, a healthy desire to puncture the self-important and the sense that you can work hard to achieve things in life. "

Sponsored Walk Benefits MedEquip4Kids

Wednesday, 15 June 2011

Junior Girls undertook half an hour of vigorous walking around their school, Hesketh House, to raise funds for MedEquip4Kids.

Earlier in the week, a visitor from the charity came to speak to the girls about their work.  They are a charity based in the North West of England raising money for paediatric healthcare facilities at local hospitals.  MedEquip4Kids are running a "Get Active with Pip" campaign highlighting the work of the charity and the importance of making healthy lifestyle choices.

Following the presentation, all girls received an envelope to collect donations from family and friends for a "Walk4kids".  Fun was injected into the event as girls were allowed to dress in their pyjamas - more of a sleep walk really!

By the end of the day over £1,800 had been raised.  A fantastic sum!
