Sports Day Fun for Junior Girls

Friday, 01 July 2016

The Junior Girls enjoyed a variety of sporting challenges at their Sports Day. Although the initial date had to be rearranged due to rain, the afternoon of activities did go ahead as the summer term drew to a close.

Parents, grandparents and family members gathered on the school field to cheer on pupils as they took part in long jump, sack races, howler and bean-bag throwing, skipping races, and many other activities.

The girls threw themselves into Sports Day with a huge amount of enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed taking part. The sun even made an appearance for part of the afternoon!

Former Headmistress Ruth Brierley also returned on Sports Day. She brought with her Hesketh, the cockapoo puppy bought for her by staff, parents and pupils as a retirement gift at Christmas. This was a lovely surprise for the girls and an opportunity to see how their former headmistress and her new dog were getting on.
