"The classic Bolton School combination is hard work, good friends, challenging and thought-provoking teaching, a healthy desire to puncture the self-important and the sense that you can work hard to achieve things in life. "

Year 3 Come Face to Face with the Past

Thursday, 29 September 2011

Year 3 girls were lucky enough to find out all about life at Bolton School Girls Division from some 'Old Girls' - Mrs Knight and Mrs Armstrong - who joined the school in 1964. They told tales of their form room, which was up a castle-like spiral stone staircase in the library; the food, which included yummy puddings but plenty of unpopular dishes such as liver and onions, which you had to finish; the teachers, who all seemed to be quite strict and scary; catching buses to school and the uniform - a beret and gloves even in the summer! The girls had their many and varied questions answered and looked at old school photos and uniform in what was a very enjoyable afternoon sharing memories of school days.
