Earlier this month, the Old Boltonians’ Lodge made a donation of £1,000 to the The Open Futures Bursary Campaign, continuing its support for the School’s bursary scheme once again for the new academic year.
Philip Britton, Bolton School’s Head of Foundation, was delighted to attend a meeting of the Lodge to accept its gift in person, and to update its members on the School’s progress with the Open Futures Campaign.
He said “The Old Boltonians’ Lodge – the last remaining school lodge in East Lancashire – has supported the School’s bursary programme for many years. I very much enjoyed visiting the Lodge at their meeting, to share with them the impact that sustained support has had here at the School and to express our sincere thanks for their continued generosity”.
Members of the Lodge, many of whom are Old Boltonians, have long been supportive of the School and particularly its bursary and scholarship programmes, donating just over £30,000 to the School during the past 25 years.
The Open Futures Bursary Campaign aims to secure the future growth of the School’s bursary provision by bringing its target to offer bursaries to one in three Year 7 pupils by 2030 back into reach. Since its launch in May 2025, it has raised over £1.5 million from supporters from across the School community.
