Nursery Class Visits Martin Mere
Tuesday, 19 April 2016
The Nursery Class for Three- and Four-Year-Olds visited Martin Mere as part of the children’s work about Spring and Growth.
The children found out what makes humans different from birds and learned lots of new facts about birds. They also had fun pretending to be ducks and flamingos!
While walking around Martin Mere, the children saw lots of different types of birds – including pink flamingos – and had the chance to feed them. On the walk they saw lots of baby birds as well, which also linked to the Growth and Spring topics. The children enjoyed exploring the adventure playground, and some were even brave enough to go on the zip wire.
Mrs Karen Shaw, the Nursery Class teacher, said, “The weather was fantastic and a parent came to tell us that their child hadn’t stopped talking about the trip until they went to bed!”
