Children from the Butterfly Room at Bolton School’s Nursery, who will be leaving to start school in September, enjoyed a trip to Knowsley Safari Park. The trip was designed to be a part of the children’s farewell to the Nursery.
All of the Butterflies were excited to come face-to-face with the exotic animals at Knowsley Safari Park. They saw sleepy lions and resting rhinoceroses. They were amazed at the long necks of the giraffes and emus. They watched out for the monkeys and spotted a herd of deer.
The children also visited Sealion Cove to watch the sea lion show! This was a particular highlight and it was fantastic to watch the sea lions show off their skills with a football – particularly with Euro 2016 currently taking place. The children gave the animals lots of applause after every trick and stunt and were delighted to see what they could do.
The children will also have a special Leavers’ Party at the start of the summer to celebrate their time at the Nursery and say goodbye to the staff before departing for pastures new.
