Bolton School Senior Boys
The Senior Boys' Parents’ Association is holding a coffee morning in the Leverhulme Suite (behind the main Senior School Reception) on Tuesday 11th September from 8.30am to 11.30am. This is a very informal affair, please feel free to drop in at any point for a coffee, some home-made cake and a natter. Parents of new year 7 boys are particularly welcome – by then you will have lots of questions and there will be several experienced parents on hand to answer them. This is an ideal opportunity to bring along any donations you may have for our tombola stall at Fireworks or pre-loved uniform for our second-hand shop.
Following the success of our gin-tasting evenings, we are holding a wine tasting evening on Friday 5th October at 7.30pm in the Leverhulme Suite. Tickets are £20 per person and include a welcome glass of Prosecco, the opportunity to sample six different quality wines from small producers, and snacks and soft drinks during the evening. You will also be able to purchase the wines by the glass or the bottle. For more information or to purchase tickets please email BSBDPA@gmail.com. There are only 60 tickets available and we anticipate that they will sell out fast, so please get in touch as soon as possible!
The Teenage Journey series is aimed at providing parents with a wide range of topics and expertise covering the different aspects of raising teenage boys. Expert speakers both from within Bolton School and from elsewhere will talk about issues such as adolescent mental health, diet and exercise, homework and revision skills, relationships, drugs and alcohol and social media. Recent speakers include Dick Moore from the CWMT, Teenagers Translated, Mark Cowling from Third Space Bolton and Bernard Strutt from the University of Manchester.
All the sessions take place on weekday evenings and are for parents and staff only. Details of the 2018-19 Teenage Journey programme can be found here.
