Thursday, 21 November 2013
Nikos Siragas an artistic wood-turner and carver from Rethymno, Crete visited Bolton School to give a fascinating lesson on wood-turning.
Girls and boys from both divisions enjoyed a morning learning about the tools, how to use them and how Nikos works and where he gets his passion from.
Nikos is known throughout Europe due to his unique designs and the outstanding quality of his work.
He demonstrates and teaches at exhibitions and seminars each year and regularly writes articles in English craft magazines.
His work is carved from a variety of beautiful local woods in Greece such as olive, eucalyptus and walnut.
