Bolton School Boys' Division has its very own Writer in
Residence!
Iris Feindt works with Year 7 boys at the School, helping them
complete a project which involves creative writing through creating
a fantasy board game, with rules and instructions. They then
turn this into a quest style story which relates to the world they
have created in the board game.
Head of English in the Boys' Division, Richard Griffiths said:
"Iris has done a great job in encouraging the boys to be creative
and imagine new worlds. She offers something very different to the
usual English lesson and the pupils have responded with great
enthusiasm."
Year 7 pupil Ali Khalid said: "The lessons have been fun because
we got to be a lot more creative than usual, creating our own
characters and making up our own fantasy worlds."
Iris has a Creative Writing MA which she studied for at MMU and
now teaches creative writing. She recently started a small
publishing house with former colleagues, and has been
published in an anthology of short stories.
