Boys Make the National Football Final Again

Bolton School Boys' Division U15s football team has beaten Manchester Grammar School and made it through to the national Rensburg Sheppards ISFA Cup Final, where they will meet Whitgift School from South Croydon.

Having gone behind to MGS after three minutes, the Bolton boys showed determination and togetherness.  Luke Eccles' deflected equaliser was followed two minutes later by a truly magnificent free kick from Josh Roberts from twenty yards out that flew into the top corner.  The 3-1 victory was sealed when Roberts latched on to a through ball and slotted home fifteen minutes before the end.

In earlier rounds the boys beat Bury Grammar School, 4-0; Leeds Grammar, 2-0; and overcame Grange School, the champions from two years ago, 6-2 in the Quarter Final.  The team has won 18 of its 20 games this season.

The final will take place at Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium on Thursday 3 March at 6.00pm.

Last year a Bolton School team triumphed in the U13s ISFA Final and the School also won the competition in 2003.

Bolton School is one of only nine schools nationally to be an ISFA Focus School and this involves the school driving football forward both within the school and throughout the region.
