Boys Reach County Cup Cricket 20/20 Finals

Bolton School U15s' cricket team has reached the County Cup Cricket 20/20 Finals Day to be played at Vernon Carus in Preston on Friday 22 June.

Bolton overcame Lancaster by 45 runs at the quarter final stage. The School scored 131 runs for 5 wickets in their 20 overs with impressive knocks from Haseeb Hameed (65 not out) and Callum Parkinson (30).  Some inspired balling saw Lancaster bowled out for 86 runs.  Chris Brownlow picked up 4 wickets in two overs, Matthew Parkinson took 3 wickets in two overs, Millen Patel two wickets in two overs and Matthew Hotham one wicket in his two overs.  

Mr Johnson, Head of PE, said: "The lads really rose to the challenge yesterday, accumulating a really competitive 20 over total against accurate balling and tidy fielding, with some excellent shots all around the ground and outstanding running between the wickets".

The day will involve 2 semi-finals in the morning and a final and 3rd place final in the afternoon.

On the route to the finals day Bolton School has also overcome Parklands, St James, Little Lever and Lancaster.
