Boys Try Out the World of Work

As part of the Careers programme at Bolton School, Year 8 boys took part in a Work Sampling Day
Each boy attended a full day of work with a parent, relative or family friend, in order to develop personal skills, abilities and qualities and to learn about the issues of the workplace. Places of work were varied, including Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Vernacare (manufacturer of paper based products for the global healthcare market) and Shop Direct Group.
One pupil, Harry Wareing, went to work for Appliances Online - DRL Limited, which is run by an Old Boy, for the day and part of his job on the day was to present a review of a washing machine which can be seen here:
