Year 12 boys from Bolton School, who were attending an Inspire a Class: Chemistry in Action day at The University of Salford, found themselves face to face with their Chemistry teacher, who was one of the speakers!

Dr Kristy Turner, who is one of very few teachers who split their time between school and university lecturing, was one of several speakers invited by the Training Partnership who run Education in Action days around the country. Pupils from across the region learnt from Dr Turner, who splits her time between Bolton School and The University of Manchester, how they can best prepare themselves for their chemistry exams. A number of other high profile chemists also spoke on the day with session titles including “A is for Arsenic” and “Gods, Devils and Alcohol”.

Last year The Daily Telegraph featured Dr Kristy and her work in school and university.
