"Pupils are encouraged to volunteer, to lead, to perform, to try new things, to move outside their comfort zone and they emerge as fine, rounded, honourable young adults equipped to thrive and succeed wherever life takes them."

Double County Vest for Matthew

Monday, 20 March 2017

  • Matthew Y8 Greater Manchester Cross Country
  • Matthew Y8 North Lancashire Hockey

Matthew Mair in Year 8 has performed at a county level in two different sports in recent weeks, representing both Greater Manchester and North Lancashire.

He ran for Greater Manchester in the National Intercounties Cross Country at Loughborough. Despite being spiked at the start and losing a shoe, so therefore running with just one shoe on, he did very well in the race! Greater Manchester came 10th overall out of 39 counties.

Over the weekend, he played for North Lancashire in a hockey tournament alongside fellow Boys’ Division pupils Ben Price and Alistair Watts in Year 8, and Lawson Bates in Year 9.
