"There is no doubt this is a very special school with fantastic facilities and fantastic teachers who make all the difference. It's just a shame that every school in the country cannot be like Bolton School."

Sir Harry Kroto - Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry and Old Boy

Double plate success in Northern Schools Tennis

Monday, 25 June 2012

It was a double success for Bolton School in the annual Northern Schools Tennis event as our boys claimed both U12 and U14 Champion titles.

The boys travelled to Pocklington School in York for the prestigious event, which attracts top schools from right across the north of England with over 30 pairs entered in each age group.

The draw left the boys in two very strong plate competitions and after winning three fixtures on the bounce both the U12's pairing of Mohammed Kahn and Daniel Southworth and the U14's pair of Oliver Harford and Tom Wright made it through to the finals. Ironically both pairs met St John Fisher School from Harrogate but after two close matches both were crowned champions. Special mention to the U14 pair of Zack Weir and Elliot Turnbull who reached the semi- final stage, all boys performed well in a fitting end to a successful Tennis season.
