Boys’ Division chemistry teacher Dr Kristy Turner has been selected for a prestigious role on the editorial board of the leading chemistry publication, ‘Education in Chemistry’. This magazine is a flagship educational publication for the Royal Society of Chemistry and a free, printed copy of each edition is sent to all schools in the UK and Ireland. It has a worldwide readership of chemistry educators in schools and Higher Education through its web platform and app.
Dr Turner has been a contributor to ‘EiC’ for the last four years, writing regular blogs as well as print articles alongside a number of other roles with the Royal Society of Chemistry. This new role recognises her experience in chemistry education encompassing both independent and state secondary schools and Higher Education.
Speaking about her appointment, Dr Turner said, “I am excited to be joining the team at ‘EiC’ in a more formal role and seeing where we can take the magazine during my three-year term. The new platforms have already transformed the way we get content to readers and interact with them which has allowed us to respond quickly to breaking news on aspects of education, such as syllabus changes.”
